Now you know

The River Falls Area Research Center & University Archives, located in the lower level of Davee Library, is one of 14 research facilities in a statewide network coordinated by the Wisconsin Historical Society in partnership with the University of Wisconsin System.

Its holdings focus primarily on the four counties designated to the River Falls ARC by the Wisconsin Historical Society:  Burnett, Pierce, Polk, and St. Croix. It does, however, have miscellaneous items, such as plat maps or written histories, that cover counties outside of the region.

The Area Research Center & University Archives moved earlier this fall just down the hall from its old location on the lower level of Davee Library. The Center is up and running and is open during most University business days. For more specific hours, visit  http://www.uwrf.edu/library/arc/geninfo.php. Collections include maps, newspapers, church and cemetery records, census records, naturalization papers, school records, tax and assessment rolls, vital statistics, photographs, and permanent historical records of UWRF. Announcements

Business Clothing Drive through Dec. 4
The UWRF Business Association is collecting gently used women’s and men’s business clothing during the week of Nov. 30 to Dec. 4. Collected business clothing will then be donated to Rise, Inc.’s Michael’s Closet which provides people who have disabilities and other barriers to employment with appropriate interview clothing and accessories to give them that ‘something extra’ they may need to launch a new career. Michael’s Closet also provides people with the knowledge and means to project a professional appearance at their job interviews as well as give them some basic outfits for their interview and the first few weeks of employment. If you have business attire that you no longer wear, consider donating those items to those in need. A donation box will be located in Room 127 South Hall. Contact the Business Association at busiassoc@yahoo.com.
