Gov. Jim Doyle, Chancellor Don Betz and River
Falls Mayor Don Richards were on hand to welcome more than
2,500 people at this year's Family Fun Night as part of the K.C. Chiefs
Summer Training Camp at Ramer Field. The evening's events were a go
despite a 24-hour power outage from a City of River Falls transformer
failure on
the main part of campus which lasted well into Saturday afternoon. For

Announcements
Effective immediately, we are
discontinuing the need to request advance approval for travel.
Originally, this process was implemented due to a State review of all
out-of-state travel, and we've determined that this is no longer
necessary at this time. As always, it is appropriate to discuss all
travel with your supervisor prior to making travel arrangements. --

An additional matinee performance has
been added to the SCVST's production of Beauty and the Beast
after the cancellation of opening night on Friday due to the campus
power outage. The additional matinee is scheduled for Saturday, Aug.
12, at 1:30 p.m.
Other show times are Aug. 9, 10, 11, 12 at 7:30 p.m. and
Aug.
6 at 1:30 p.m., all in the Blanche Davis Theatre, KFA. For tickets,
call ext. 3114.
A project involving the removal and
replacement of sidewalks on the south lawn area of North Hall will
begin Monday, Aug. 14. To increase safety and enhance the
appearance of the area, the walks leading to the mid-block
crossings on Cascade will not be replaced. The southeast
entry of North Hall will be blocked off during the project, but the
remaining entries will be accessible. We apologize for any

utilized by the Kansas
City Chiefs for the duration of their training camp through
Friday, Aug. 18. T lot permit
holders will need to park in an alternate location. T lot permits will
be valid in I lot (behind RDI), G lot (behind Hathorn Hall) and the Q
metered lot during this time. Contact

Student Services and Programs is looking for faculty and staff
interested in serving Root Beer and Cherry Coke floats (during 45
minute shifts) to first year students attending the Involvement Fair on
Academic Day, Tuesday, Sept. 5. Shifts are from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30
p.m., 12:30 to 1:15 p.m., and 1:15 to 2 p.m. Aprons and gloves
