Gov. Jim Doyle, Chancellor Don Betz and River Falls Mayor Don Richards were on hand to welcome more than 2,500 people at this year's Family Fun Night as part of the K.C. Chiefs Summer Training Camp at Ramer Field. The evening's events were a go despite a 24-hour power outage from a City of River Falls transformer failure on the main part of campus which lasted well into Saturday afternoon. For more information on the outage, visit http://www.uwrf.edu/pa/fd/FDPowerOutage.doc. For more Family Fun Night and power outage photos by Jens Gunelson, visit http://www.uwrf.edu/photo_archive/.

Effective immediately, we are discontinuing the need to request advance approval for travel. Originally, this process was implemented due to a State review of all out-of-state travel, and we've determined that this is no longer necessary at this time. As always, it is appropriate to discuss all travel with your supervisor prior to making travel arrangements.  -- Mary Halada
